Constructive Friction Creates a Third Space for Art/Science Collaborations
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract Successful interdisciplinary collaboration between artists and scientists is not about discovering “common ground,” but deliberately creating new spaces for collaboration. These include physical, virtual intellectual elements brought together through constructive friction creation honest use of a shared language. Communication shapes the collaboration, leads to joint work engenders ways working levels understanding. The authors interrogate their collaborations identify essential general principles synergistic communication productive scientists.

Constructive Induction: A Version Space-based Approach
By automatically reformulating the problem domain, constructive induction ideally overcomes the defects of the ini t ial description. The reformulation presented here uses the Version Space primitives D ( E , F ) , defined for any pair of examples E and F, as the set of hypotheses covering E and discriminating F, From these primitives we derive a polynomial number of M-of -N concept. Experiment...
متن کاملNumerical treatment for nonlinear steady flow of a third grade fluid in a porous half space by neural networks optimized
In this paper, steady flow of a third-grade fluid in a porous half space has been considered. This problem is a nonlinear two-point boundary value problem (BVP) on semi-infinite interval. The solution for this problem is given by a numerical method based on the feed-forward artificial neural network model using radial basis activation functions trained with an interior point method. ...
متن کاملConstructive Urysohn Universal Metric Space
We construct the Urysohn metric space in constructive setting without choice principles. The Urysohn space is a complete separable metric space which contains an isometric copy of every separable metric space, and any isometric embedding into it from a finite subspace of a separable metric space extends to the whole domain.
متن کاملConstructive Dynamisms of Large-Scale Urban Projects by the Space Political Economy Approach; a Case Study of Mashhad Metropolis
Aims: The development of large-scale construction projects has transformed the shape of cities towards specific objectives and based on economic and political perspectives that dominate policy-making and planning in cities. The purpose of the research was to study and analyze the spatiality of Mashhad construction mega-projects and to explain the constructive forces and dynamisms of these proje...
